What has McAfee done to my sound card?

I have a Sound Blaster Platinum Live 5.1 sound card coupled to a Creative Labs DTT3500 Digital speaker setup. This morning i installed Mcafee Internet Security Suite 2005 and ever since the sound has gone dead. The speakers show they are receiving an input, whilst the volume properties still jump up and down to show they are emitting a sound. I have tried uninstalling both Mcafee and the soundcard drivers and reinstalling just the soundcard drivers, but the problem is still there. Now McAfee is back on the system too and the sound still isnt there. The problem is compunded by the fact the microphone works the speakers when i make a noise into it through the TAD-in connection

oh and also i am on xp with sp2

Completely uninstall mcafee... all the way gone. If that fixes it, ditch macafee.

it works again. i literally did nothing. it just cut in again half way through a song. what the hell :amazed:
