What free DVD Ripper would you suggest?

I've tried the 4 most popular DVD rippers on download.com and haven't had much luck. They either error out, don't copy copy protected DVD's, or you have to pay something like $40 for it. I just want to back up my DVD's to my hard-drive for easier viewing, there's got to be a program out there that will do it right and not charge you. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Easier viewing? What's so hard about taking the dvd out of the case and popping it in the drive? :freak:

dvd shrink works the best if you get it figured out. I had a couple dvds on my old drive on it. because they were a friends and I wanted to save them until I got a dvd burner. but hdd failed so that was the end of that.

when you have 300gb of free space and 20+ DVD's, it's nice not having to keep them all organized and not having to worry about scratching the surface Thanks for the suggestion, lancec.

AnyDVD and CloneDVD2, best combination but it isn't free. There's a 22 day trial though you can try as a full version. I bought both of them, life time update, pretty sweet.

everybody forget about the old school one that made dvd ripping famous. it's the one you use to rip scratched discs
