Hello,

I am new to MP3 players.
You might aswell read my small post "Some-thing strange about MP3 Players/Recorders !!!" before reading this post to understand it.
I am going to ask the website these questions but usually it takes 7 days for a website to get back and I can't afford to wait that long as I need to buy one immediately and so I need your brilliant helps.

Anyway, after checking a lot of brands and models I have come across many technical words that I don't understand. I have listed them in BOLD below so please try to explain them to me as much as you can.
I am not expecting anyone to explain every single technical words which I have listed but if anyone does volunteer to do so then GREAT !!!
I am not just simply listing the technical words because if I do that then maybe you too won't understand as some-times different websites list different words (which you have never heard or read before) explaining the same thing. And that is why I have listed the "context" aswell as the links so you can check the "technical information" of each MP3 Player/Recorder on the links yourself to check-out the full contexts of each products's technical descriptions.
Please note that I am not spamming the links because I don't own them and I am not affiliated with them either otherwise I would have listed my referral links.
Please look-out for the BOLD text for those are the words which I do not understand and need help to understand them and look-out for underlined text because those are my questions.
Try to answer as much as you can.

Thank You

MP3 USB KEY

ThatÂ’s a really long post, you might want to try shortening it up. You're asking many questions in one post. (But thatÂ’s OK w/ me)

I'll answer the ones I can think of off the top of my head...

DRM 100 Compatible means that the play will work the Digital Rights Management software. Microsoft, Napster and a few others use this software on legally downloaded music to ensure that it isn't pirated. Some MP3 players arn't compatible with DRM the one you mentioned # 18 is compatible however.

The Retractable USB connector simply means that the USB connector from your MP3 player to the computer (I assume) is retractable, so you won't lose it.

#17 uses the new USB 2.0 standard to connect the MP3 player to the computer, this is faster then the old USB 1 standard. However your computer needs to support USB 2.0 most newer ones do.

# 16 SRS WOW is an audio effect, SRS increases the bass of your music, among other things it also provides 3D sound. Not sure what the external Hard Drive on that one's about. the MP3 converter simply means that the player (I assume the player anyway) can convert other audio files to the MP3 format. Check though they may have included this feature with software that came bundled with the player.

#15 An E-Book is an electronic book and the Audio Source is the source of music (where you get it from)

#14 I would assume your right.

#10 and 11 simply mean that you can listen to FM radio and depending on the player, record it. You'll have to double check though before you buy it.

#5 ID3 tags are used to keep information about the song, the Album title for example, the year it was released and so on.

#4 This means that the LCD is lit from the back and not the sides as is the case with many other LCD screens. Back-lit is better.

#3 I would assume that it's the same thing as #2 and I believe thatÂ’s #2's feature as far as recording goes...

#1 I would assume that data support means that you could store other files on the MP3 player (Other than MP3's of course)

Hope that helps.

1. It just means you have 5 bands to have a custome setting of music equalizer. where you are able to change how you hear the music. you can play around with it till something you like. and the pre-selections are the built in eqaulizations that you can pick when you listen to your music.

4. Back-lit.. is most likely your back light on the screen of the mp3 player, where it is a certain color allowing you to see the words and all in the dark, other places where its not clear, just as this computer has a lighted up screen, you yourself want it to be back-lit.

6. I have an mp3 player, it is settings on how u want to hear the music, an mp3 player coomes with presets of different types of eq (equalizer) such as rock and others that enhance your music.

15. your variable eq means that from song to song the equalizer of it which is how you want to hear it if you set it up correctly, such as you wanna hear vocals over the instruments u can adjust it, so i guess variable is you can adjust it to different music you play.

Also, with the CD-Sync it just means that it will play it with the correct timing where the music will be smooth and clear.

i'll try and answer some questions later.
