i wish to start up a 30 minute webcast about division 3 football can anyone point me in the right direction? any tips i know less than nothing about webcasting i dont even have a web cam yet

you mean you want to produce a video podcast - e.g. one epizode per week, right? Well, record your "shows", upload to a server, generate feed (e.g. at feedburner) and submit this feed to directories...
I helped someone out once with a similar thing but that was a while ago.

Once you have the feed readly submit it to iTunes, ZENcast.com, audio.search.yahoo.com podcastdirectory.org etc...

Web cam? How about a microphone too. They make usb powered mics just for people doing simple podcastings.
