Webcams & Surveillance cams, with Dial-up..

I want to get the images (video?) from a cam in another part of the house, different floor maybe, to go to my laptop computer for me to watch- see if it catches any spooky stuff going on .. I don't have the cam yet and also use dial-up isp connection. I've been told the dial-up limits my possibilities for setting that up, and also the cams that could be used. Any suggestions how I might be able to do this? also would a webcam or surveillance type cam be better? I don't know much about either kind). Thanks for any help! Y.

i have no idea, but beware people are watching if u dont encrypt it. go to systm.org to see for yourself. they did a segment on warspying boxes and how easy it is to steal camera feeds. lol i dont know anyone else with one of those boxes so i wouldnt be too worried
