Non-techie first time poster so please be gentle...

I'm building a home office and want great sound that's 100% PC driven. Here's what I have in mind...
One Computer, no other stereo components if possible.
6 speakers for full 5.1 surround sound capability.
Pre-wire for in-wall speakers in the 4 corners of the room.

I've been told that no PC sound systems come with in-wall speakers so if I want to do this I'll have to buy the piece parts and stitch this setup together. Ugh! Eternal gratitude to anyone who can explain what I need in laymans terms. Better yet, let's say my budget for this audio setup is around $500. What EXACTLY would you buy to make this work?

If you are wanting to go all In wall, then you will be out more then $500. You need a high end sound card/system for starters.

Lets start here... Sounds card/system:

Here is a good one from a few years back:

This is the Creme De La Creme without breaking the bank.

I think the later two are what you really want, as to do the SB things, you need to run them through a standard Audio Reciever.
As for speakers, there ar too many to say, but here are a few good links for information:

And this is some usefull information...

Good luck to you.
