VLC media player question

Ok, i was looking for a program that would allow me to capture an image from a DVD. I was pointed towards VLC, which I downloaded and am using. When i take the snapshot, I see a little picture of the snapshot show up in the upper left hand corner of the DVD, then it fades away. Where do these snap shots go? I would like to be able to capture the image, then manipulate it for a background. IS this possible?

They go in your VLC directory, so wherever you installed it, they are in there. For instance, for me they are in /home/ted/.vlc/whatever.png

Yeah, i am running Xp home, so they'd be in the same area? the VLC directory? i'll check when I get home. thanks!

Ok, so i couldn't find the area where the snapshots are stored...can anyone help?

C:\Program Files\VLC\

FINE I'll reboot to Windows and find out...

You don't have to do it if it ticks you off...but I can find the VLC folder under programs, but then I just cannot find where they'd be

It saves them in "My Pictures" ...
