A friend of mine wants to watch his satellite on his laptop, but I'm unsure how to go about this.
He had bought a Hauppauge tuner however this does not work since they cannot do digital satellite since it's encrypted.
Even hooking up the Hauppauge to the coax out/tv on the receiver, would not pass the video though to the laptop.
So basically, is there any cable (I'm assuming RCA to USB?) that can go from the RCA out on the satellite receiver to his laptop USB and play in some sort of software?
Satellite -> receiver -> RCA out -> *some sort of cable* -> laptop -> software
Thanks
