Video to Computer?

First off, if this is the wrong forum, I apologize. This is my first post.

Anyways, here's the problem. I need hardware and software that can be used together to copy video footage that is on a videotape to my computer. What hardware and software would I need to copy from VHS to my computer? Also, what is some recommended hardware and software? Thanks in advance.

You can also get a PCI video input card for cheap if you don't need a new video card. I know that ATI used to make one. A friend of mine has it and it works really good.
