i just reinstalled my windows home xp, im using a geforce 6600 gt card
amd 64 3800+ processor, and creative xifi soundcard.

im on directx 9.0 c and have the divx 6.4 codec

the thing is in any player other than windows media player, all my videos are far too dark too see anything and whatever i do with the brightness/hue/saturation settings i cant get them to look right.

i am recieving no error messages, the videos just dont play right on any other players. ive tried VLC, creative mediasource and the divx player.. i get the same problem on all of them except windows media player.

its nothing major since i use wmp now for watching vidoes, but id like to sort it out anyhow. anyone have any suggestions?

There are a lot of bugs like this with the Nvidia drivers. Sometimes reinstalling the drivers helps, sometimes it doesn't. I would try that. If that doesn't work, try opening quicktime while the movie is being played. Strangely enough, the video will immediately brighten. (if it is the same error that I had :) ) Not exactly a good fix but better than watching dark videos.

That's all I know right now. Hopefully it helps until someone who knows more comes along.
