i have a pair of cheap goodmans speakers, costing around £30-40 with a subwoofer. After listening to some audio, the subwoofer cuts off and i cant hear any bass from it at all! The other 2 speakers work fine but the subwoofer keeps stopping and then playing again after a minute or so.

please help!!!!

thanks, from edd

It's very possible (and probable) that the amp is a POS that is overheating. A lot of amps will stop playing if they overheat. It could be due to a short or just some design flaw. If your sound drivers are fine, then I don't think you'll be fixing this problem without buying new speakers. Try hooking up some other speakers if you can. That's probably your best bet for troubleshooting. If the new speakers' sub (say, the one on your friend's set) doesn't cut out like yours, then you need new speakers to fix the problem. If it also cuts out, update sound drivers. If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to buy a new sound card. You can get a respectable one for $30.
