Subwoofer Hum

I've got an Onkyo home theater in a box. I'm loving it, but around volume 30 or so there's a noticeable hum coming from the subwoofer. Pretty annoying during quiet parts. The sub is hooked up with a (25 foot?) monster cable, which seems pretty decent when compared to the thin one that came in the package.

Any ideas?

yep i get that with my guitar amp if its not pluged all the way in it'll hum like crazy.

Yeah, it's in all the way. And the little signal flow arrows are going from receiver to sub, if that matters.

i tryed googling but didnt get any thing much.dose it have an AMP in it,oh wait it must have an AMP.

yeah, it's amplified, not passive
