I am having trouble with the sound on my computer. I can play a CD on my computer, but I cannot hear any sounds from the computer (startup, noises from websites, etc.). Any suggestions?

Some software over-rides the audio settings and mutes it.....presuming you dont have a sound icon in your taskbar...

go >START >ALL PROGS >ACCESSSORIES >ENTERTAINMENT >VOLUME CONTROL and check all the sliders are up and the MUTES are not ticked.

If you are on XP, check out the soundscheme.

start>settings>controlpanel>sounds speech and audio>"change the soundscheme".

Maybe set it to default if its not already. I tend to turn mine off, so I dont hear websites and downloads 'bonging' cos its a bind if you record music and find you have click's from browsing he net or bong's from errors or whatever mixed in the recording! lol.

See ya

Sirius.
