sound driver issue

when i turn on my computer to play a game eg strnglehold moh airbourne etc etc after a 10-20 min the sound goes so then i exit the game and try iTunes and when i click to play a song theres no sound and the only way to sort it out is to restart my computer i dont know why it does this i have the latest drivers for my sound card can anyone help

i think its my sound card because now im using the onboard sound im not having any more problems, so do you think my sound card is up the creek

never mix asus with creative. they don't like each other. there a workaround for this, but it's hard searching here for the old links. I posted it about a years or so ago
