I have a built in sound card that I can't get to work with my speakers. My last pair was a USB speaker set, they blew out and I tried connecting a standard set firectly in the sound card and nada. When I try to install what I think is the right driver, I get:

An error occurred during the installation of the device
The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name

There is no other sound card driver installed except the audio and multi media codecs. Any ideas?

yes you need to go the the device manager and then find your sound card and remove the drivers completely then reinstall them

I have uninstalled the drivers. The only thing running is the codecs. I can't figure out what service is running thats interrupting the installation. This has been a real pisser.
