Should I upgrade my Sound Card?

I'm running my SoundBlaster Live 5.1 sound card / Onboard Sound from my Gigabyte 945P-S3 mobo.

Will I notice a different in sound quality and get better system performance for games if I upgrade? What is the best bang for the buck sound card available right now?

5 or so years ago when cpu's wern't so quick, you would receive a performance boost ( a few fps) from a soundcard but now CPU's are so ridiculously fast the performance gain is not noticeable. You'd probably strain a cpu more by telling it to add 1+1

But the sound quality will be better if you get a Creative X-Fi etc. What speakers do you have ?

I have Logitech X-530 speakers.

Creative X-FI is the latest and greatest I assume. Will it wow me or will I just go, "ooo i think it sounds better?"

"ooo i think it sounds better" Will probably be your initial reaction, to anyone that cares alot about audio and knows there stuff - they'd think it's a massive improvement.
