Hi,

What kind of graphic card (reasonably priced) would you recommend for video editing use?
I'm buying a new computer so if you also have a recommendation about CPUs it would be great (Pentium vs. AMD).

TIA

If you are planning on using it for editing, Matrox makes is better than ATI and NVidia (mostly for gaming). I haven't used any so I can't tell you which one is best.

Intel should encode faster for Video editing but you will need a heatpipe cooler if you want it to run cool and quiet.

Get an AMD 4000+ if you don't want to deal with that.

I with get a real hardware encoder card for video editing. a video card i'snt much help there.

look up names like oprey, opticast and canobus. the quartet gl is the best, but I don't know if it's available anymore

Real Hardware encoders. better picture and encoding times. very little cpu usage. these would produce the same great result on a 100 mhz computer. they are expensive but not on ebay. Osprey, Opticast and Canopus make some of the better ones
