is it possible to burn vhs onto a dvd?
is so what type of hardware do you need?
thanx

would this be a good card?

http://www.qmb.co.nz/p.aspx?102822

and how exactly does it work?
is the video connected to the pci card by a dvi or s video cable ?
and then streamed in real time on the pc to then be burnt onto a
dvd?
sorry for the noob questions....

That card seems ok. I have never heard of that company so I couldnt tell you about the quality of it, perhaps www.epinions.com might be able to.

You can either have it display on your monitor just so you can watch it, or you can record it in real time onto your hard drive. After it is on your hard drive, you then burn it onto a DVD with software that comes with the DVD burner or Capture card.

Dont be sorry about n00b questions. In fact, you are not asking n00b questions.

can you give me any tutorial sites on how to do this?
And if you are connecting the video to the pci card to record in real time on the hdd what connecting cables do you need for
that card (http://www.qmb.co.nz/p.aspx?102822)?
once the video is recorded onto the hdd is should have no problems in burning to a dvd...should...

thanx

The card comes with cables already:

As long as the card or the DVD burner came with some kind of DVD creating software, you should be ok.

I dont know of any tutorial sites for this. You might want to try Googling it. The instructions that come with everything should be enough to get you started. If you come across any problems along the way, you could always come back to Tech Forums for some answers:)
