Please Help (Convert Files)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to convert video files into files an average dvd player could read.

I think you can use Nero. Not sure though.
Most DVD players either play VCD or SVCD or both.

what program do you convert it with?

for example, I use pinnacle expression to make vcds

they make their vcd different than everybody's elses

no computer will play them, but most dvd players do, even dvd player that don't normally play vcds

As far as I know there is always an MPEG2 file when writing a VCD or SVCD to a disc.

We have lots of movies and when I put them in the DVD player it says VCD or SVCD. I can play all of them on my computer as well.

pinnacle express mpeg file are actually call .dat files

which is why computers won't play them, but most dvd players do.

I have played .dat files with AviPreview. Cool program.

I use pinnacle studio 8 to edit and convert all videos and burn onto a dvd, which plays on any dvd player and computer.
