ok, being my first post, i'm not sure wheather this thould be in the networking section

i have a computer in the lounge room which is connected to the tv sound system thats in there. this computer is networked to every other computer in the house.

Does anyone know if there are any programs that i could use that would allow me control the audio thats being played on the computer in the lounge from another computer in the house?

if this works i'll just leave the computer with no keyboard, mouse or screen in the lounge.
and maybe later i'll try streaming video, but lets not worry about that now.

thanks

that really wasn't very helpful vance.

you could do a remote desktop connection between the two and use any audio player installed on the pc connected to the sound system. otherwise i think there's special hardware for this type of thing. do a little research on that

Another way you can do this is by using winxp remote desktop to log into the media computer and controlling it remotely. you could also buy a remote control for the media computer and use it like a standalone music player.

Thanks guys! dont know why i didn't think of remote desktop.
its working well!
