I have a 5.1 system for my computer but I would like to be able to use it with my TV for my DVD player and such. Now I've looked into a little bit and it appears that I need a digital decoder to do this, since my speakers have three plugs, front/rear/center:sub. I saw some suggestions for something like the Creative Decoder DDTS-100, but it is discontinued and impossible to find. Do you guys have any suggestion on how to do this?

What speaker? What DVD player?
Some sound cards have a digital decoder built into them.
Auzentech, Inc. Sound Cards. Audio You Can Believe In. World First soundcards for Music, HTPC, and Gaming.
That will be your best bet unless you can find another source to decode the signal.
Peter the speakers nor the player will help. The DVD play will still send out the signal in DD format and you will need something that can decode it at the PC. Be it a receiver or a sound card that can decode that stuff.
