Odd iTouch Problem

Well I recently got an iTouch courtesy of my friend who didn't want it anymore. (He got a gen 2 iTouch for his B'day)

However, the problem is when music is played, the music plays fine, however the lyrics are extremely soft and inaudible in most cases; on the contrary, when the same music file is put on my Zen there are no issues.

So anybody know what to do or how to fix it? I tried resetting it using iTunes on my sister's computer.

This may sound simplistic, but have you tried a different set of earphones?

I did try that before actually (with my Zen's headphones to no success).

From the looks of things its all at default settings.

I even got that update, which also didn't work.

EDIT: this also happens on internet sounds too (like if I access a music video via Youtube)

I hate to shamelessly bump my thread, but any assistance really at this point would be great.

Because basically all my music and Youtube videos basically sound like either instrumentals or blank voices.

Not sure about this myself but I think it would be worth messing with the EQ. Try turning up the frequencies in the middle of the range.

Tell me exactly how to make it normal (I'm pretty bad with iPod's, so baby steps would be appreciated.)

If that's how you've been listening to it, then no wonder it sounds strange. Take it all back to 0 and see how it is.

When I change these besides plugging in the iTouch in.. is there a specific way to save the changes when it's plugged in the USB port?
