I hope someone can help me out with this:
I have the DFI Lanparty NII motherboard with the nVidia AC'97 chipset onboard sound. Anytime I use any recording software to record sound coming in through the Line In, it is not heard through the speakers, but it gets recorded.
Same symptoms arise when I even turn on any monitoring part of the software (to see the sound levels being input). I can see the bars move, so the sound is coming in, and the software records the sound, but it cannot be heard while recording.
The line-in is not mutted in the playback control panel, and it is selected as the input in the recording control panel.
The sound is heard fine until I either hit record, or click on the option to turn on input monitoring.
Any ideas?
P.S.
I have a friend with a different motherboard (Asus) with the same audio chipset having the same problem.
