No sound

Just joined the group. I have a Pavilion 754n with Windows xp which crashed and burned last week.

I had to have a new hardrive installed.

Can not get any sound from the computer. Believe I lost my sound driver

Can anyone help me download a new driver?

P.S. Went to HP site and tried their suggestions.

Went to START, ALL PROGRAMS,HP TOOLS.

HP TOOLS did not exist.

Next tried to set BIOS. WENT TO F1, ADVANCED, ONBOARD AUDIO OPTIONS not there.

if you have your recovery cd it should located on it

No Recovery CD

The HP uses a recovery partition, no CD included. So if you format or replace your HD, you're out of luck.

to identify ur soundcard, u can use software like sisoft sandra etc. then go to the manufacture website to d/l the driver.
