new sound card

whats a good sound card? i lawyas hear people talk about the creative audigy but theres like 8947238433 different kinds? saw one for 70 on newegg so about an 80 or 90 dollar limit or will that one be fine?

oh yeah, whats the difference between 5.1 and 7.1? 5 speaker and 7 speaker support?

Yes, it depicts the maximum speaker configuration soundcard supports. Creative Labs Audigy LS is a good choice if you ask us, assuming you won't be using it for a studio-like sound editing. We have it as a primary sound card in our system and it meets a our needs.
