Try a BIOS Flash, refer to manual to check and see for hidden options relating to sound and onboard sound.

If all above fails, get a cheap PCI Card for testing.

is a bios flash like a resetting of the bios? cuz i scanned the manual doesnt say anything about a flash specifically

what about disabling and re enabling sound card through device manager, had a problem like this before did this and it worked fine..

ii had the same prob as falcon, re-enabled it and it worked fine.

I go there first (device manager) to make sure the driver is installed. then I'd go to sound properties to make sure nothing is muted expect the microphone

i downloaded the latest version of realtek or what ever its HD sound and i enabled it. my sound works everywhere but in game like if im playing a video game the sound effects dont come in but i can hear people talking over there microphones. i dont think it has anything to do with the settings. ill check again though.
