Well, I recently found the drivers for my onboard soundcard from a helpful link in my other post. However, I still get this odd static sound in the backround of my headset when nothing is playing. What could cause this?

make sure the plugs are in the WHOLE way, not just until it gets a bit harder to push in, some new sockets can be a bit tighter than usual.
