Sounds to me like you are running at a resolution lower than the LCD's native resolution. When you do that, the monitor upscales the screen to fill out the whole monitor, but this makes things blurry. Your LCD is probably a 1280x1024, so if your only running at 1024x768 it will be blurry. Try increasing your resolution to see if the blurr goes away.
I can't believe that nobody suggested this yet. This is a common complaint with people that start using LCD's. And the suggestion to open up the monitor is just plain stupid. Monitors are not user serviceable, and operate with high voltage, so you could get hurt.
