my new speakers sound all high-pitched and chipmunky

hi guys

i just bought a new system and picked up some logitech x-230 speakers for use with it. however, like the thread title says, they're sounding really bizarre; the problem's not so noticeable with instrumental music or sound effects, but whenever a human voice is played on these speakers it sounds very high pitched and squirrelly.

what could be causing this? i listen to a lot of music on my pc, so this sound-quality is unacceptable.

change your sound card, as if you arent already on 24-bit

are u using on-board sound card?
