MP3 player not regconised

I have just gotten an MP3 player that I have recorded onto and now want to transfer to the PC.

I have installed the USB stuff that came on the CD with the player but when I plug the player into my PC it comes up with 'device malfunction/not recgonised etc' the options I'm given are unknown device or mass storage neither show up in 'my computers'. At my parents I could play the files direct with windows media but on my pc nothing seems to work.

It comes up on the player as connected to PC

Does anyone know what could be wrong ? have a missed something in windows?

go to the device as mass storage and then go through the folders looking for your recording it should be names recording or something.. if you dont know the name, look on the unit itself and play it back, it should show you the name.
