Alright I have a movie on my computer...name is irrelevant...it shows up as an AVI file. Now...when I double click on it, opens up with the default media player, which would be WMP. WMP then tells me I do not have the correct codec installed...which I can understand.

I try to open it up with Divx player...tells me the file is not a valid movie file. Now...it is over 800 megs large...and I'm not going to delete it just because Divx player won't play it.

Any ideas what codec to install...or how to make it work?

Thanks in advance. :bald:

k-lite codec package. <-- use google

or you can download VLC media player, it will play most popular video files.

I was reading through some other posts on here...and noticed that VLC player has a new version out...so I'm downloading it right now.

I'll try the other thing as well...I haven't use Kazaa in forever though...I try to either buy my music...or buy the tracks.

Thanks, BTW!

:)

Okay I tried both...and it doesn't play at all with VLC...and Divx still tells me to 'check to see if it is a valid video file.'

The codec pack does nothing either...

And VLC doesn't do anything when I try to open the file.

Every single program is telling me the format is not supported.

Obviously the file must be corrupted. Kind of frustrating...I found it out of suprise this morning..and thought for sure I could make it work.
