Movie Making Novice Needs Help

I have finally purchased a digital videocamera to go with the Dell system we bought over a year ago in order to make home movies.

The software I am using is Sonic MyDVD.

I have gone through the whole process 2 times now and each time I have gotten the DVD made but it comes out without sound.

I am at a loss as to what to do....Sonics website is not helping me nor is Dells.

The system came with the IEEE firewire (or whatever the technical term is) but I am unable to capture the video with that as I receive an error message stating that the device cannot be found.

I have captured the video via an analog connection and will deal with the dv wire problem at a later date.

I just need help figuring out why the sound is not coming through.

Can anyone please help me or direct me to another site that might be useful?

Make sure the drivers are installed for the firewire.

I just reinstalled the drivers but am still receiving the error message "MyDVD cannot detect a signal on the selected video source. Please make sure that you have a device connected and that it is NTSC compliant".

I thought I was going to have fun doing this..........
