missing sound

I've recently downloaded a couple videos, when I went to watch them all the sound was there except for the voices.

I have K-lite codec pack

anyone know what I may be missing?

Have you tried the files in different players?

You have something set to 5.1. All vocal channels are usually routed to the center channel. If you aren't using a 5.1 system, change it to stereo.

I have my PC running through my 5.1 stereo. I've tried with my headphones as well.

it has to be a center channel issue. check your output settings. and check to make sure your center channel is working correctly... your soundcard should have some sort of diagnostic utility with its software

nevermind guys, I got it...I was trying my headphones and I made sure that it was set for headphones. it's working ok
