Ive had this problem for 2 months now and its really getting on my nerves, its even making me wanna switch over to mac....

So about 1 year ago I installed a PCTV capture card made by Pinnacle on my computer, Ive uninstalled everything and it feels as if its gone...But wait....

This christmas I received and M- audio MIDI controller keyboard to make music with on my computer, the problem is whenever I plug it into my pc it either restarts or tells me I have plugged in my PC TV (wtf?)
So my PC recognises it as my capture card, its really strange because I have deleted everything I installed with the PC TV....

I even brought my PC and keyboard to an I.T specialist and he couldnt resolve the problem, someone please help me!

p.s Pinnacle and M-audio are both owned by Avid, so it really weird that these to devices conflict with eachother.

Thanks! I really want to make music!

why would you use pinnacle with midi? Avid and pinnacle are video editors, and m-audio is a recording (audio) equipment company. MIDI is for audio/instruments/synth stuff... not video.

EDIT: Wait a sec... i am completely lost. WHAT?

Did you take the card out? What m-audio controller do you have? What software are you using to record midi info?

Read my topic properly, I know M-audio is music and Pinnacle is video, thats why I find it weird they conflict with eachother....

The Capture card was external, its in my closet, havent used it in a year, The keyboard is M- Audio 02 and I either using Magix, Audacity or Fruityloops.

It sounds like avid drivers are still on the PC. Since M-audio is avid's company, the drivers will have very similar if not the same names. So, when you are plugging it in, your computer is looking for the PCTV but is getting the O2, gets confused and restarts. What I would do is plug he PCTV back in, go into the hardware section of control panel, find it, and uninstall the drivers for it. Then, unplug it and restart. Try the O2 then.

Thanks for the help.

I have so many boxes to look through lol, I think Ill do it tomorrow cause its quite late here (3AM)
Is there a way to uninstall the drivers without having to plug it in?

Ive tried the following

1.Going to device manager and uninstalling PCTV.
.
2.Uninstalling PCTV on Add and remove software.

3.Deleting lots of files, even hidden ones.

Ive tried other things but they arent coming to my mind right now.

P.s nice specs if thats ur pc in your sig
;)

Thanks, Im downloading now.

So what, I install this and plug it in?
Please try and find a driver cleaner, it would mean alot, I just need to get rid of this junk that PCTV has left behind.

If I dont reply fast it will mean my comp has restarted, ok? lol

Sorry Im new to this whole MIDI thing, I just really want a lil studio in my room, Ive made alot of RnB beats.
