installed a geforce fx5200 on a dell dimension 3000 and now i have no sound

i tried to play an mp3 and got this error:

0xC00D11BA: Cannot play the file

when i go into sound and audio device properties in the control panel, there is no default device for sound playback and it is greyed out so i cannot change it.

How do i fix this? I have went to dell and tried updating the audio driver but dell says i have it up to date. when i installed the video card, could that have done something?

thanks

Hi and welcome to Tech Forums :).
Have you tried going to Device Manager, uninstalling the current drivers and reinstalling back the latest drivers from the dell website? Not sure but it seems to be worth a try. Not sure how the video card would affect this though.
