I apologise if this is a really dumb question, but I'm not the most technically-minded of PC users when it comes to hardware. Basically I'm buying a new PCI soundcard, the M-Audio Audiophile 192 and I just want reassurance that putting it into my PC will be easy and painless. My PC has visual display thingies where a soundcard would go which is why I am a little confused. To fully explain what I mean here links to pics of what I want to do:-

Put this:-

Sorry the base unit pic isn't very big but hopefully you can see enough. Many thanks in advance.

:)

ya normally the graphics prosessor isn't on a PCI slot it normally has it's own PCI like port that is a lil longer......if you have an open slot it will be painless as long as drivers are installed correctly......go for it...looks like a good card...... normally PC's have at least 3 PCI slots and one graphics slot......you should be fine

Many thanks H4X3r :) I apologise if this is an even dumber question than my original one, but where will my card be located when I have it in it's PCI slot? I don't have space on the front so does that mean the actual inputs will be on the back of the base unit?

hate to say it but..yes you will actually have to reach to the back and plug in your speakers....because the PCI slots always are at the back of the MOBO (motherboard)........it's not so bad...

This is how it looks in m computer. The PCI slot is white by the way. The slot in my pic is an ISA slot. But nothing can really go wrong because it only fits in a PCI slot.
