improving tv quality on pc

i have media center and an nvtv tner but hook it up trough the regular cabling in my house and so it gets bad quality which i think makes the file size bigger when ur recording it, it also can just be hard to watch,

does anyone have any suggestions for improving the quality

that's a compression technology. that can't improve quality. you can't use it with nvtv anyway

I put a cable input amp on my cable line and I get great quality. I set my record quality to high

is a cable inpt amp similar to a vcr where you run the able in and out, if u know wat i mean
