can anyone explain to me what multimedia is all about?.... My brother wants me to take-up this course when i step through college,,, but i still have no idea what this couse deals with..... can anyone help me please...

According to google 'define', Multimedia is

' Information presented in more than one format, such as text, audio, video, graphics, and images.'

So the course involves the study of the above. Like how jpeg works, how mp3 works, what is divx, how are images compressed,how they are represented etc..............
