How to put sound in 2.1 instead of 2.0?

I just bought a Logitech Z-323 2.1 speaker set and the system works fine and all but I don't think it's being used to full capacity because my sound settings are in 2.0 instead of 2.1.

Problem is, I don't know where I can put it in 2.1. I checked my sound settings and my AC97 sound manager but it only offers "Headphones, 2.0, 4.0, and 5.1." There is no 2.1.

I can get 2.1, however, if I watch a movie and I change it to 2.1 in my audio codec.

No it always works. It's just I don't think it's true 2.1 sounds because my computer is being told to emit 2.0 sound.

2.1 just refers to the speaker configuration..... 2 speaker(left and right) and one subwoofer

It will always work that way regardless if your sound drivers are saying 2.0
