HELP: Center speaker on 5.1 doesnt work

i have a creative 5.1 system and i have a proper 5.1 SBL card. ive updated the drivers and everything but my center speaker wont play any music or anything but when i run the speaker test, it works alright.

probably because the music is only 2.1 or something like that . . .

if you play games or something like that, you should be able to hear them

it's normal. because you're playing music which is a stereo source and SBL doesn't have the feature to mix it to 5.1 so your center speaker won't work. but when you play dvd movie/audio or play game it should work.

I have a Creative 5.1 system also, just got it recently actually. My center speaker works when you try out the test, but not when playing music. I'll have to try it with a movie or game to see if the center works then.

yep, to make ur center works when listen to stereo source music or video, you need the feature from ur soundcard to make some virtual/matrixed 5.1. just like mine, turtle beach santa cruz has the feature "virtual 5.1", so when u listen to stereo sources, u will find the center's working.
