Headset microphon doesn`t record

I have a new Headset (sond link thebe sl 8735). But the microphonen doesen`t do anything. http://www.tec-world.net/hardware/GAPL-009-speedlink-thebe-headset.html Can you help me. If you can speak german, please answer in german. But you can answer although in englisch.

Make sure its plugged into the headphone jack and go into your volume control

start->control panel->sound and multimedia->audio tag->volume

Turn the microphone bar all the way up, and if you don't see it go to options add it.
