Headset help

I just got my fatality headset. I plug the green and pink into the back without a problem. I have a built in sound card, so the realtek audio thing comes up. I have sound, but the mic is not working. I raised the volume for both in the sound options in the bottom right corner, but still nothing. When I plug the mic in, realtek thing asks if its mic in or headphones blah blah. Can someone help me? I just plugged the front panel of my case into the motherboard. I cant get any sound or mic out of it. *UPATE* I got the sound and audio working in the back. Now I need help getting the front to work on my case!!!

It might be muted in windows (start -> run, "sndvol32" without quotes. You might need to go to options -> properties and check "microphone")

Ok, I changed a setting in my BIOS from HD audio to AC97 and it works now. Thanks apokalipse
