Headphones question!

I listen to mostly Rock (Tool, APC, Disturbed, Rage, etc). I have a little techno and stuff but I'm using my iPod earphones right now and they are better than any earbuds I've had before.

I heard both of the ones in question destroy the iPod ones too, so I should be pleased with either . . .

Does anyone have a pair of either (or both)? Do you experience the microphonic problems with the cord on the ER6? I think I'll probably go with the Shure's afterall, but I still wanna know if the ER6's are worth the extra money; I wanna know if they are really that much clearer than the Shure's.
