So my tv monitor has 2 hdmi slots and the one is broke. So my issue is using multiple hdmi components (computer, xbox, play station) i have to get up switch the cable and so on. Wondering if a hdmi spliiter would solve the issue or not. Like if i had a 2 hdmi in and 1 hdmi out and plug xbox and computer into the splitter (in) and plugged the 1 hdmi (out) into my tv monitor will i be able to use the xbox and computer just by turning one on or off or with a remote or something or is there anything i could use to make them both use the same port as in a hub or a switch or splitter. Any tips/help would be appreciated gets aggravating having to switch cables every time... thanks

mean something like this

Newegg.com - Coboc HA-HMSPL-1X2PT 2 Port 1 in 2 out Pigtail HDMI V1.4 Amplified Splitter w/ 3D HDCP 1080P Support,with 8inch Pigtail Cable

You would need an HDMI switch, not a splitter.

A splitter is used to output to multiple devices. You need multiple inputs, which is what a switch would do for you.
