HDMI audio drop out

I have a HTPC and I am using a DVI to HDMI converter to get my audio and video, which is working great for the most part. However, my audio keeps dropping in and out and I am not sure why. I noticed it drops out more when ever I am using a browser and streaming video. A symptom of this it sometimes my screen will black out then come back and the audio is gone.

hmm, perhaps my question wasn't very clear. I'll try to rephrase it, and forgive me for not editing my original post.

As mentioned above my HTPC is hooked up to my TV via DVI to HDMI. I have a radeon 4850 video card and the newest CCC. The audio works for the most part, but occasionally my screen will black out and come back on and there will be no sound. then 2-3 minutes later the sound comes back. This appears to be only happening when I am streaming videos, ie hulu, netflix etc..

i would try updating your sound card driver.

Would that help since I am running it through the ATI video card?
