Don't get me wrong, i LOVE my monitor speakers, and i new they would be very revealing.
But what i didn't realise is that EVERY MP3 even 320kbps has a crackle at the high end, and it can be quite apparent. This is not my soundcard, speakers, or media player. Because on any CD audio or FLAC files it's perfect, except badly recorded CD's, which are also shown in an instant. Some of them are downright disgustingly recorded, i don't know how i ever listened to it before.
It's still hard to get used to how my monitor speakers are designed, because they are so flat it's almost odd having all the parts of music the same volume (especially as modern recording have less dynmics) And because there is no dedicated mid range on my monitors, it tends to be a bit reccessed.
But even with all these complaints, there's nothing to match the accurate musicality that they emit on a well recorded CD
