I have an ATX case with a front mic and headphone jack. I have not been successful in getting the headphone jack to produce any sound. The mic will work just fine, but not the headphones. Please give any advice that would help.

Did you plug all the connectors in the soundcard/mobo

If so, did you check your jumpers

What case, mobo, and soundcard if i may ask

It may depend on if you've upgraded your sound. Many PCs now come with alot of hardware connected to the mainboard. I bought a PC with the soundcard built in. I bought a better card and installed it. Once I did that, the headphone jack on the front was unusable, since it was configured for the built in sound card. The only way I know to get around that is to plug your headphones into the soundcard outlet in the back of the computer.
