I rip with DVD:Rip for Linux. It doesn't have a Windows version, but it supports encoding to divx, xvid, mpeg1/2/(4?), avi, ogg with mp3 or aac audio, has tons of options, and is completely free. The output video files are smooth and high quality if you set it up right.

Agree with soul. DVD Decrypter has no competition. I have yet to find a DVD it couldn't rip.

With the use of AnyDVD. Every application can rip any DVD.

you need to add rip it 4 me and dvd shrink to it get it to rip the new sony encryption. anydvd can handle all discs
