Flash card write protected

I have a client that has this 4 GB flash card for his phone, he says that he can write to it and use it fine when in the phone, but when he incerts it into his laptops card reader vista home premium states that it is write protected.

So I get a hold of his laptop incert the flash card, vista detects it, I am able to see it in my computer and open it.

It just won't let me write anything to it, I look at the properties for anything to change, ive enabled sharing for it.

but still nothing.

any ideas?

Make sure that the Adapter he uses he doesnt engage the Lock. Just insert the MicroSD Card into the Adapter and let it be. If he engages the lock it will be write protected.

So my guess is that its an external button or slider near it?

On all of mine it is a slide.

The image here gives you the best look.

That little slide on the side where it says lock. That is write protection for the MicroSD card.
