Firewire?

Hi,

I need to know what I can do about getting video from my camcorder to my computer without using the required firewire cord, because I do NOT have a firewire port on my computer.

well you can use usb but only if your camcorder supports it however the capture quality will be far worse comparing to firewire , i suggest youll buy a firewire pci card or pcmcia if its a laptop they are cheap and as alredy said youll get much better results using firewire

as for the how first of as alredy said its possible only if your camcorder also have a usb output if it doesnt then its not possible , youll need to get a usb a-b cable they are very cheap it looks about like this

however the diffrence in capture quality between usb to firewire is like night and day , i strongly recommend getting a firewire card
